The 69th national boxing championship ended with the triumph of the athletes from Grimancauti. The pugilists trained by Petru Caduc won five of the ten finals, IPN reports.

The boxers from Tiraspol became winners in the two light categories – semi-fly and fly. Danil Platonovski won the title of champion in the 49kg class for the second consecutive time, while Alexandr Rascan won in the 52kg class. Famous Moldovan pugilist Veaceslav Gojan easily beat Alexandr Usatenko and became national champion for the 14th time, reaching thus the record of Igor Samoilenko from Tiraspol.

The 60kg class final involved two boxers from Grimancauti. Vadim Ivaniuc failed to win against Mihail Cvasiuc. Dmitrii Galagot won a new title in the 64kg class after beating Veaceslav Plotnic from Chisinau.

Vasile Belous from Grimancauti, who competed in the Olympic Games of 2012 and was close to qualifying for the Rio Olympics, won the final in the 69kg class against Andrei Sanjura from Baltii.

In the 75kg class, Victor Carapchevski from Chisinau and Valerii Sarbu from Comrat met in a final for the third time. This time again, Victor Carapchevski emerged victorious. In the 81kg class, Petru Ciobanu from Chisinau and Andrei Zatushevski from Grimancauti dueled in a final for the second time. Ciobanu, who medaled bronze at the 2013 European Championships, scored a victory.

The final of 2014 repeated in the 91kg class. This time again, young boxer from Chisinau Victor Ialymov surprisingly beat Mihail Muntean, who reached 36. The pugilist from Grimancauti remained thus with 13 titles, missing the chance of reaching Igor Samoilenko’s record.

In the plus 91kg class, Daniil Svarischuk from Balti was defeated by Alexei Zavatin from Grimancauti, who in the semifinal beat kick boxer Maxim Bolotov. Zavatin became thus national champion for the fourth consecutive time.
