As many as 387 applications for registering initiative groups for supporting candidates for MPs in single-member constituencies have been submitted by January 4 to the electoral councils of single-member constituencies, IPN reports.
Given that January 4 was the deadline for submitting applications for registering initiative groups, at most 387 candidates for MP can run in the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019 in the 51 single-member constituencies.
According to the Central Election Commission, 348 initiative groups have been registered so far and 131 of these already submitted the subscription lists and the required documents so that the candidates could be registered.
A number of 93 electoral contenders have been registered in single-member constituencies by now.
