At least 70 Chisinau school roofs in need of repair

The Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport at the next meeting of the Municipal Council on July 29 will present a draft decision on the repair of roofs of local schools. The Division's head Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb told Info-Prim Neo that about 70 school roofs are badly in need of repair. The Council will consider allocating 2 million lei for renovating them. “This sum is not sufficient, but we focus on the priorities,” Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said. The repair works will be completed by August 20-25. About 100 million lei is needed to fully repair the roofs of the Chisinau schools. The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport will submit a draft decision to the Council, asking that money be allotted every year for fully renovating the roofs of 2-3 schools. According to Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, a similar draft decision was presented last year, but it wasn't approved. The high schools “Natalia Dadiani”, “Alexandru Pushkin” and “M. Kotiubinski” will be the first to be repaired.
