Businessman Renato Usatyi has real chances to enter Parliament and the refusal to register his party is nothing else but a well-planned scheme by those who are afraid of competition, considers activist Fiodor Ghelici, who heads the Association “Moldova Mea”.
“To make one’s appearance on the political arena on Moldova so boisterously and vertiginously as Usatyi did is an accomplishment that no one has achieved so far (...) The Ministry of Justice says one third of the signatures submitted for registering his party are forged. I will never believe this,” Fiodor Ghelici said in a news conference at IPN.
The activist said he and the association he heads will throw their support at Renato Usatyi and will assist him by all ways possible.
According to Fiodor Ghelici, during four years the ruling class showed that they are unable to improve the people’s lives. Now, by political order, they are making effort to deprive a new politician of chances, defying thus the legislation that guarantees the right to choose and to be elected.
“Society is tired of such politicians as Lupu, Filat, Ghimpu and Voronin, who did nothing for the country. The people want changes and a better future,” said Fiodor Ghelici, underlining that Renato Usatyi must do his utmost to become a lawmaker, even on the ticket of another party.
Sofia Sugac, a member of the Association “Moldova Mea”, said that Renato Usatyi became an important figure on the political arena of the country and is supported by a considerable number of people who are now deprived of the right to choose.
Another member of the Association Alexandr Iudin said the latest polls show that the Party of Renato Usatyi (PaRUs) has real chances to enter Parliament. That’s why, by order of political parties, the Ministry of Justice refuses to register it.
PaRUs is not among the 42 parties that can take part in the November 30 parliamentary elections.
