A single mother with seven children was helped on the occasion of the Easter holidays within a campaign conducted by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council. The Division’s spokeswoman Elena Vorotneac has told IPN that a number of education institutions and employees of the Division donated money and food products for this family.
The woman raises seven children, the youngest of whom is one year. The family lives in a rented room and lacks basic necessities. It has large debts for public utilities. The person who leases the room out to it no longer takes rent from the family, but asked that at least the debts should be cleared.
The campaign carried out by the Division included two charity fairs where money was raised for the family. A number of municipal education institutions brought domestic appliances, food products and toys for children to the Division’s head office.
