Young people and women willing to start a farm business may submit applications for upfront subventions at the territorial offices of the Agriculture Payments and Intervention Agency AIPA, beginning on May 7 and until July 9.
According to the AIPA, priority is given to projects involving equipment purchases for livestock farming, protected vegetable and fruit cultivation, and modernization and replacement of orchards and vineyards. Also encouraged are purchases of breeders to improve livestock fertility.
Applicants from rural areas, with entrepreneurial training, and without any tax arrears will have an advantage.
Job creation is a mandatory requirement for the applicant projects, which must not exceed 24 months in duration.
The grants offered by the government will not exceed 65% of the total eligible costs, meaning no more than 1 million lei.
