“2009 passed well for our family. As every year, we had pleasant and less pleasant moments. We cannot say that a year is good from the beginning till the end. However, we try to overcome all the obstacles,” the mother of seven children Ecaterina Procopciuc from Bocani village of Falesti district told Info-Prim Neo.
“I and my husband did our utmost to satisfy all our children’s needs. We know that they had less than other children, but they had what they wanted. We are proud of them. They do well at school, are healthy, help us. We taught them to work. It would have been harder if they had not helped us,” Ecaterina Procopciuc said.
Andrei is the youngest in the family. He said 2009 was a good year because he finished well the primary school. He hopes 2010 will be as good. He is very glad that there was much snow this winter and he could go sledging. Andrei asked Mos Craciun to bring him a new bicycle for the summer.
“The winter holidays are the most beautiful because there is a fir tree, candies, presents, Santa Clause… On Saint Basil we go through the streets and sing songs. I have a small bag from my grandfather, where I put the presents that the people give us for our greetings,” Andrei said.
Nicolae said 2009 was acceptable. He is glad that he finished the ninth grade and now studies at a vocational schools in Ciuciulea village. He wants to be a tractor driver and welder.
“Winter is the nicest season. Everyone expects Santa Claus to bring gifts. “I like when my father slaughters our pig on Christmas. We go caroling and have fun,” said Victor.
Ecaterina and Ion Procopciuc have seven children. The eldest son is 23. Together with a younger brother, he went to work abroad. The youngest son is in the fifth grade. He is one of the most diligent students in his class.
