The Communist MPs would like all the parliamentary groups and unaffiliated MPs to sit at the negotiating table and decide together what measures should be taken to overcome the current economic and political crisis. Communist lawmaker Artur Reshetnicov formulated such an idea in the public debate “Chances of AEI 4 and of the Republic of Moldova,” that were organized by IPN News Agency in partnership with Radio Moldova.

Artur Reshetnicov said the Party of Communists (PCRM) wants a dialogue to be held with all the parliamentary parties because each of them has a mandate from the people to represent them in Parliament. The people should no longer be divided into ‘ours’ and ‘yours’ or into ‘those who want with Russia’ and ‘those who want with the EU’ and all the politicians should work to promote the country’s interests first of all.

The Party of Communists is not a pro-European party, but considers that the Republic of Moldova must develop by the European model so that the European Union is created here, at home. Artur Reshetnicov noted that this initiative wasn’t put forward for the first time, but earlier the political class didn’t react to such a call and thus the country is now in a very difficult situation.

The Communist MP stated that since 2009 the country has been governed by parties that declare themselves pro-European, but these simulated the European integration and no government in the period brought its mandate to an end. The Communists will never accept state funds to be stolen under the European slogan, corruption to continue to exist and the European integration to be simulated further.

Artur Reshetnicov added that it was the duty of the Communists to dismiss this Government as they will never accept a Cabinet that steals and does not work for the people’s benefit even if they do not want early elections. Instead, the PCRM will continue to demand that each government should modernize the country according to the European standards.

The public debate “Chances of AEI 4 and of the Republic of Moldova” is the 43rd installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates”. The project is supported by the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
