Artur Ionita most probably will continue to play in Series A next season. The Moldovan halfback playing for Hellas Verona is close to signing for Genoa, which ranks 16th in Series A, IPN reports.
The last match he played for Hellas, against Genoa, ended in a 1-1 draw. Ionita could make his debut for Genoa on January 31, against Fiorentina, which is another team that was interested in the Moldovan halfback.
In 2014, Ionita signed for Hellas for which he scored three goals in Series A. Hellas now ranks the last but one in the championship.
Artur Ionita started to play for Zimbru and then moved to Iskra-Stal. Afterward, he played for Switzerland’s Aarau for five years. He is the first Moldovan who plays in Series A. The 25-year-old player scored two goals for the national football team of Moldova.
