For 25 years, the people of the Republic of Moldova has been hostage of corruption, poverty and government inaction. Everyone speaks about corruption fighting, but nobody says how this should be done. To make changes for the benefit of the people, civil society should also play a decisive role, considers the aspirant for the office of President Artur Croitor.

In a news conference at IPN, Artur Croitor said the state should guarantee the independence of NGOs and should provide tax concessions to the people and companies so that these directly finance national projects and NGOs.

Speaking about the pension system, Artur Croitor said this is inefficient and should be reformed. Each taxpayer should collect the paid taxes on an own account to which they must have access after they retire. The pension should not be lower than the minimum consumer basket and should be of 3,000-4,000 lei.

The potential runner in the race for the presidency considers the young families should be supported given that Moldova’s population diminishes. According to him, 3,000 to 4,000 lei should be given to parents on the birth of each child, a plot where to build a house should be also provided on the birth of the second child and other concessions should be also offered on the birth of the third child.

Artur Croitor also spoke about the diaspora. He said the state should ensure conditions for the people who went abroad and have contributed to Moldova’s economy through remittances during many years. The people should be stimulated to return home so as to share the experience they accumulated abroad.
