The first artificial Christmas trees appeared at the markets in Chisinau. The selling prices depend on their height. A tree that is 90 cm in height costs 115 lei and up, one that is 1.5 m in height - 275 lei and up, while a tree that is 2 m in height – over 750 lei, IPN reports.
The prices of multicolor lights also depend on their length and number of bulbs. A sum of 75 lei is paid for 5 m of lights, 95 lei for 6.5 m and 110 lei for 8 m with LED bulbs. Tinsel costs 15, 20 and 30 lei, depending on length and thickness.
A set of six globe ornaments is sold for 35 to 45 lei, while of 24 ornaments for 60 to 90 lei. Snowflakes can be bought for 7 lei for a set of five pieces. A string of decorative pearls of 5 m is sold for 14 lei. A Christmas tree star costs 10 lei a piece.
A Santa Claus costume can be bought for over 400 lei.
