Art, tourism and entertainment festival on boat – a premiere for Moldova

An arts, tourism and entertainment international festival will be held for the first time on a ship in Moldova. “Perla Fiesta – 2009” will unfold from August 24 to 30, on Princess Elena ship, on its way to Istanbul and home, Info-Prim Neo reports. The festival is organized by the association “EuroMoldovaArt”. Artists and travelers are invited to join it, with a contribution of 300 euros. The registration deadline is August 15. “The idea of this festival has been haunting me since childhood: traveling over seas, going to other countries,” singer Lenuta Burghila, the president of EuroMoldovaArt, has told a news conference on August 4. She wants the festival to become a tradition, but acknowledged financial problems. She assesses the budget of such a project at half a million lei, but they have only 150,000 lei. “I think I'll take a loan from a bank,” Burghila says. Mucates Ostuzun, a Turkish businessman residing in Moldova, says he'll back Perla Fiesta – 2009, and believes in its continuity. “I think we're doing something good for our peoples,” he said. On August 27, when they reach Istanbul, they will give a reception on the occasion of Moldova's Independence Day. Back from Istanbul, on August 31, the festival will continue in Stauceni village of Chisinau municipality. On September 1, the festival participants will go on a tour about Moldova. The drive will end on September 2 in a gala concert hosted by Mihai Eminescu Theater from Chisinau.
