Ex-MP Arina Spătaru, who heads the Party “Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe” (ALDE), asked for personal protection from the National Anticorruption Center (NAC), arguing the intimidation to which she is subjected has become more brazen. This happens after it became known that she played the role of an agent under cover with the mission to thwart the plans of fugitive politician Ilan Shor. Arina Spătaru also called on the Party of Action and Solidarity to clean its ranks and urged Prime Minister Dorin Recean to check the integrity and good intentions of the Cabinet members, IPN reports.
“When I announced this investigation, didn’t I tell you that the servants of Shor will step up their efforts, will throw dirt not only at me, but also at the whole inquiry and all those who worked in this investigation?” the former MP stated in a news conference. According to her, the state institutions involved in the investigation of the Shor group are subjected to an unprecedented attack.
The ALDER leader noted that pressure is exerted with the aim of extracting additional information from the inquiry so as to compromise this case. The politicians who were bought by Shor are scared given the existing information referring to them.
“We expect that Shor’s parties – Revival and Chance – will react vehemently. We expect that the Socialists and the Communists will react vehemently because ‘Shor’ equals the interests of the Russian Federation. But pro-European politicians defend Shor ... Among the most acerbic pro-European politicians who attacked this investigation was Igor Munteanu and his mates from the administration of CUB,” said Arina Spătaru.”‘Mister Munteanu should have started the conference with a simple fact: Mihail Bagas, who was already arrested for transporting sacks of money for parties in Moldova, was a founding member of the Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing.”
Following these and other statements made by Spătaru, Igor Munteanu said that he will sue her. “The aberrant assertions of the code-named “Victoria Bogatu” today broke all records. She is an agent under cover, a holy sister, a model of integrity and also the party pocket in which €1.45 million from Shor found a place. I will sue her for her lies to be clarified. I repeat, the political parties should not be the training ground of oligarchs and intelligence services (unreformed),” Igor Munteanu posted on Facebook.
