The Government of Moldova suggested a draft decision that provides for the extension of the areas covered by the National Award. The proposal was submitted by members of the award conferring commission and envisions the inclusion of the areas of civic activism and volunteerism, architecture and building, IPN reports.
According to the proposal, the National Award will be provided in years with even numbers in such areas as culture, literature, arts and sport, civil activism and volunteerism, while in years with odd numbers in education, science and technology, architecture and building.
The deadline for submissions is May 30. The State Chancellery is responsible for the collection of applications and for the organization of the contest and related procedures. The persons who were alive when the documents were submitted can be awarded posthumously. If the managers of ministries and other authorities field candidates for the National Award, the representatives of these institutions on the commission do not have the right to vote.
The provision of the National Award can be challenged in case of suspicions of plagiarism.
