Moldova will have one more official holiday called Archivist’s Day. It will be marked annually in the second week of July. A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet on July 3, IPN reports.
State Archive Service director general Ion Varta said the institution of the Archivist’s Day will contribute to increasing the prestige of this profession and to educating representatives of the young generation of archivists.
Currently, the State Archive Service has 212 employees, including 108 technical personnel workers. On January 1, this year there were 2,545 archive institutions in Moldova.
