Arcadie Suceveanu was reelected as president of the Writers Union of Moldova on October 7. Aliona Grati was his opponent and the ratio of votes between the two was 111:66.
Contacted by IPN, Arcadie Suceveanu said there was also elected a new Council of the Writers Union. This includes three members of the Romanian Academy, namely Mihai Cimpoi, Valeriu Matei and Nicolae Dabija.
The president of the Writers Union of Moldova is elected for a four-year period. A person can hold two terms at the most.
