The cyber attack on April 7, 2009 was provoked by a group of hackers from a computer in Romania, Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco said in the April 14 sitting of the Parliament. He also said that the documents that contained information about those events were burned by employees of the Security and Information Service (SIS), Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeriu Zubco said that in September 2009, a group composed of officers of the Security and Information Service went to the SIS head office situated on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and collected 12 boxes of documents. It was later established that the boxes contained no secret documents. They referred to the Parliament’s sittings. According to the prosecutor general, those documents were burned on the territory of the SIS. In another development, the prosecutor said that when the protesters broke into the Parliament’s Building on April 7, 2009, the police could do nothing as the protesters were aggressive and numerous. SIS deputy head Valentin Dediu said the information about the April 2009 protests provided by the former administration of the SIS was not substantiated and included a lot of anti-Romania and anti-West expressions. He stated that the information was intentionally distorted and the emphasis was laid on the Opposition. The former administration did nothing to identify the persons who provoked violence. Now the Prosecutor’s Office investigates the members of a national-Christian movement and a martial arts association, which are suspected of having been involved in the April 2009 events. Valentin Dediu said that as a result of inquires they reached the conclusion that the April 7 events did not represent a coupe. Romanian young people did not get involved in those events, as the previous Government asserted. The young persons who took to the streets were mobilized through socialization networks. Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu said the then administration of the country is responsible for the April 2009 violence and the devastation of the state buildings. The former management of the Ministry of the Interior did not take steps to stop the violence and did not work out a plan of action to maintain public order and ensure the security of the police officers. He said that among those to blame are former Minister of the Interior Gheorghe Papuc, ex-commissioner general of Chisinau Vladimir Botnari, deputy ministers Andrei Shumleanski and Valentin Zubic. Before debating the April 7, 2009 events, MP Ion Hadarca distributed among the lawmakers by a copy of the book “Moldova hurts me”, written by Damian Hancu - one of the young persons maltreated in police stations after the protests.
