The platform on which those who want can schedule an appointment for being administered a COVID-19 vaccine became functional. The announcement was made by Denis Cernelea, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, on May 13, IPN reports.

The platform enables to check the appointment by inserting the IDNP. If there are no available places or the person is not eligible to get a vaccine at this stage, this can put the name and surname on the waiting list. When vaccine doses become available, the applicant will be contacted for making an appointment.

Denis Cernelea noted that it was recently decided to gradually launch the third immunization stage. Next week, the National Immunization Coordination Committee will take a decision on the full launch of the third stage to vaccinate the general population. In the future, Moldova will also organize vaccination marathons, as they do in other states.

As to the possibility of choosing the type of vaccine, Ninel Revenco, coordinator of the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign, said any vaccine available in the country is good and efficient. The people can select what vaccine they want to be administered, but particular types of vaccines could reach Moldova later. The vaccine should be yet administered swifter as it protects the population from serious forms of infection and death.

According to the Ministry of Health, 202,883 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Moldova so far. More than 27,000 persons got both of the doses.
