Applications to vote at the place of stay in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 can be submitted between June 27 and July 10 inclusive, IPN reports.

The voters who, for health or other well-founded reasons, cannot go to the polling station can vote through the mobile ballot box. Applications are submitted to the electoral bureau in written form starting with two weeks before the election day until 6pm of the day prior to the election day. On the election day, applications can be submitted until 3pm if a medical certificate is also presented.

In a press release, the Central Election Commission noted that given the pandemic, only the voters with symptoms of COVID-19 can vote at the place of stay until 3pm on the election day without needing to present a medical certificate. The persons who cannot file the application to vote at the place of stay themselves can do it through the agency of a family member or can ask the social assistant to do this. The persons with visual impairments can request to vote at the place of stay verbally too.

On the election day, the head of the electoral bureau of the polling station assigns at least two staff members to travel to the voter’s place of stay with the mobile ballot box and the things needed to vote. Voting at the place of stay can be requested only within the limits of the polling station where the voter has the registered domicile. The persons vote according to the rolls for voting at the place of stay that are compiled by the electoral bureau of the polling station based on the submitted applications.
