The Romanian authorities approved the methodology that regulates the admission of young people from Moldova to state pre-university and higher education institutions in Romania for the 2017 – 2018 academic year. Compared with the previous year, the university admission methodology has several new elements. Persons will be admitted to universities to study for a bachelor’s degree on the basis of an applications contest and relevant criteria, on the places allocated for Romanians everywhere, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of National Education of Romania, for the 2017 - 2018 academic year the candidates can apply to an unlimited number of universities, areas and specialties. Earlier, these could apply to one area, to at most three higher education establishments.

It won’t be necessary to travel to file the required documents. These can be sent to the email address indicated by the university, by mail to the address of universities or presented at education fairs that will be staged on Moldova’s territory or at the head offices of university extensions working in Moldova.

The young people from Moldova can send the files to the email address dosarerepmold@edu.gov.ro, to the Ministry of National Education of Romania, while the candidates from the diaspora to dosarerompret@edu.gov.ro or to Romania’s embassies abroad, which will transmit the files to the Ministry and from there these will get to the chosen universities. Further information about the admission process can be asked for through the same email addresses.

As regards admission to pre-university education institutions, the files can be submitted in person or by mail either to the Iasi County School Inspectorate or the Ministry of National Education of Romania during July 10 – 17. Later, the Ministry will send the files to the Iasi County School Inspectorate for holding a computerized admission contest.
