Applications for mobile voting can be filed from tomorrow

The voters can lodge applications to vote at the place of residence using mobile boxes from March 22 until April 5, 15.00. The applications will be sent to the electoral office and attached to a register that is a component part of the electoral documents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The procedure is stipulated in the regulations concerning the process of voting in the April 5, 2009 parliamentary elections approved by the Central Election Commission and published in the Official Gazette this week.
If the voter cannot come to the polling place for health or other well-founded reasons, the electoral office of the polling place will designate, at the verbal or written request of the voter, at lest two members of the office to travel to the voter’s place with a mobile box and with the necessary supplies: the additional electoral register signed by the president and secretary of the electoral office, the ballot, the special stamp “Elections 05.04.09” that will be put in the identification papers, the stamp “Voted”, a pad.
The team that will transport the mobile ballot box can be accompanied by observers. The box can be taken to the voter during the day, but should be back to the polling place by 21.00. The members of the mobile voting team must make sure that the voter makes a free choice.
The persons in custody, those sentenced to imprisonment whose sentence is not definitive, those punished administratively and put under arrest, and the persons sentenced to imprisonment by definitive court decision for minor or less serious offences can vote according to the same procedure. The list of this group of voters is drawn up by the managers of the given institution, is signed and authenticated by the institution’s stamp and is sent to the relevant polling place by March 15.
The Moldovan people with the right to vote that will be at Moldovan health spas, resorts and hospitals located outside the patient’s permanent place of residence on the election day will vote at the poling places situated near the given institution. The lists of these voters are made on the basis of the information provided by the managers of the given institutions.
The persons that will be abroad will vote at the polling places set up at Moldova’s embassies and consular offices.
