Applications for admission to Romanian education institutions can be filed in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul

The Moldovan young people who want to study in Romania can submit applications by July 31 not only to the Romanian general consulate in Chisinau, but also to those in Balti and Cahul. Romanian Ambassador Marius Lazurca told a news conference on July 16 the admission period could be extended, depending on the number of applications, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The ambassador said there will be only one admission commission who will work at the three consulates on particular days. The Government of Romanian announced it will provide 2,150 scholarships to Moldovan students, but this figure might be doubled.
Marius Lazurca explained that if the number of scholarships is doubled, Romania will cover all the related costs from a reserve fund, while from January 1, 2011 the money for the about 5,000 scholarships could be earmarked in the state budget.
The methodology of the program of study in Romania for the 2010-2011 academic year is available on the websites of the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport, the Foreign Ministry and of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.
Under a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Education of Moldova and the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport for 2010-2011, Romania will provide 950 places in pre-university education institutions, including 70 places for Transnistrian students, and 50 places with award and 150 places without award and without tuition fee as well for the Moldovan students who graduated the secondary school in Romania.
1,100 applicants will be able to study at universities, while 50 applicants to study for the Master’s degree. By 25 places are offered for resident and doctoral post-university studies.
