The application to withdraw the Democratic Party‘s candidate for President Marian Lupu has been filed officially, Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu announced on his Facebook page. The Appeals Court is to take a decision as to the withdrawal of the candidate from the electoral race, IPN reports.
“Regardless of emotions and personal or political sympathies, the values and European course of the country remain our priority, as we promoted them in the current election campaign,” wrote the MP.
Marian Lupu announced his withdraw from the presidential race on October 26. He argued the joint candidate of the center-right Maia Sandu has more chances of winning against the Socialist Party’s candidate Igor Dodon in the runoff elections.
