The application of the stamp “Referendum 2010” in the loose leaf accompanying the voter’s identity card will cost 46.5 million lei. The secretary of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Iurie Ciocan said Monday there will be made 10,000 stamps in order to avoid electoral tourism during the September 5 constitutional referendum, Info-Prim Neo reports. Iurie Ciocan said the tender contest was won by a Chisinau-based limited liability company, which offered the lowest price. The stamps will start being made tomorrow, August 10. According to the CEC secretary, the rectangular stamps with the words “Referendum 2010” will be used only on the day of the referendum as a control measure to prevent electoral tourism. “The person who will have the given stamp in the identity card will not be able to vote again in another electoral office,” Iurie Ciocan said. The second stamp used on the day of the referendum will be the round stamp “Voted”, which will be in the polling booth. These stamps will be provided by the CEC.
