Last year, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” SA made direct investments of over 100 million lei, the water supplier says in a communiqué. There were rehabilitated 90 kilometers of water and sewerage networks, Info-Prim Neo reports. The company in 2012 built the second branch pipe on the streets Lomonosov and Malina Mica for supplying water to Botanica district, and the second branch pipe on the streets Albisoara, Mihai Viteazul, Stefan cel Mare, Ion Creanga, and Belinski for supplying water to Buiucani district. The second branch pipe for Dulesti was also finished, while Budesti was connected to the municipal centralized water system. Among the company’s accomplishments in 2012 was the feasibility study “Water supply and wastewater treatment in Chisinau municipality program” for the next 25 years. The document was worked out in partnership with the EU Neighborhood Investment Facility, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the European Investment Bank. The new mono-block water treatment station and the pumping station in Vadul lui Voda were put into operation. The chlorine used to treat the drinking water was replaced with sodium hypochlorite, and the access ways to a number of stations were repaired. The difference in the volume of water measured by the apartment building meters and the individual meters of dwellers was reduced about two times.
