The administration of SA Apa-Canal Chisinau denies the accusations made by Victor Poporcea, the head of the private metrological laboratory “Rolf-bac”, about the distribution of the difference in the consumed volumes of water, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”Apa-Canal Chisinau is obliged to supply water to the consumers up to the building. The company installed by a high-precision water meter in the basement of every building. The difference in the consumed volumes is formed between the common meter set up in the basement and the meters installed in the apartments,” the water supplier says in a communiqué.
Apa-Canal Chisinau specifies that the measured volumes do not coincide principally because the meters in apartments do not meet the technical requirements and do not precisely measure the consumed volumes, and also because of the sanitary leakages and the incorrect figures indicated by some of the consumers in the bills.
The company says that this difference in the volumes causes it losses of 60-70 million lei.
Victor Poporcea told a news conference that Apa-Canal Chisinau acts illegally when it tries to put the difference in the consumed volumes of water on the shoulders of the consumers. He said the authorities’ policy on meters is incorrect. The recommended water meters of type C are much more unsafe than those of type A and B.
Victor Poporcea considers that all the problems can be solved if direct contracts are signed between the supplier and the end-users.
