The Political Party “People’s Movement Antimafie” said the leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) Vlad Plahotniuc considerably increased the personal protection measures following the murder attempt of two weeks ago. In a news conference at IPN, Antimafie deputy head Daniela Bodrug said Vlad Plahotniuc employed over 1,000 people to guard him.
Daniela Bodrug made reference to information sources in the party, but gave no names. According to her, Vlad Plahotniuc increased the number of cars of the same make by which he travels through the city in order to mislead those who want to murder him so that these don’t know in which of the cars he is. Recently, the leader of the PDM bought a new house near the Park “Valea Morilor”, which has a fence that is 6 meters in height.
“The house to which he moved is located at the intersection of the streets Timis and Bujorilor. Specialists in urban design architecture said one of the houses in that area where Plahotniuc is now is a two-story bunker. This house has different security systems, wiretapping and jamming systems and a radio-TV studio where he can film interviews,” stated Daniela Bodrug.
She also said that another house, situated nearby, serves as barracks for several dozen people who ensure the security of the Democratic leader in three shifts. The state institutions were also involved in the guarding of Vlad Plahotniuc.
