The initiative group of the Antimafia Movement on January 30 will launch
a campaign to collect signatures in support of registering the
organization as a party. The constitution congress was scheduled for
March 6, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The collection of signatures will start in Orhei, where there will be
issued a statement – the Orhei Statement - that will contain the main
principles of the movement. The initiative group’s leader Sergiu Mocanu
told a news conference on Wednesday that private individuals, legal
entities, NGOs, and parties will be invited to the event to subscribe to
the statement.
“The organizational form will be of a political party, but we consider
ourselves a movement with a people’s doctrine that fights the mafia in
Moldova,” Sergiu Mocanu said. According to him, the Antimafia Movement
will start a cruel war against corruption.
The initiative group said the movement is to be registered until the
local elections. Its leader could run for Mayor of Chisinau. “I’m a very
active man and do not rule out the possibility of taking part in the
local elections as corruption and mafia thrive in Chisinau,” said Sergiu
Mocanu.
The Antimafia Movement considers that businessman Vlad Plahotniuc is the
head of the mafia in Moldova. Now the businessman formed a dangerous
alliance with Vlad Filat. “This alliance reminds me of the situation
before the Second World War, when Stalin shook hands with Hitler. It
seems to be me that Mihai Ghimpu might be in the place of Romania in
World War II, while the Communists in the place of Poland,” Sergiu
Mocanu said.
One of the members of the initiative group, Gheorghe Susarenco said the
Antimafia Movement aims to remove this scourge. According to him, the
movement will include ordinary people, intellectuals, honest judges,
prosecutors and customs officers.
Daniela Bodrug, a member of the initiative group, said political clans
were created in Moldova during the last few years, which seized the
political power and formed suspicious alliances.
Another member, Razvan Paveliu said the Antimafia Movement is a new
force. Every person will be able to struggle with the wrongdoings
committed in Moldova. “We must stop this mafia and prove that we are
courageous,” he said.
The initiative group said the signatures will start to be collected in
Orhei because there is a conflict between the local mafia of the
Democratic Party and the honest ordinary people who were deprived of
their small businesses.
