The leader of the Antimafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu, in a news conference on Wednesday, said that the politicians involved in the talks on the formation of the governing alliance do not fight for center-left or center-right orientation, but for power and influence, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Sergiu Mocanu, the anti-Communist campaign launched by the center-right parties is a story invented by the mafia in order to keep power. The negotiations go on because the parties cannot share between them the state bodies – the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, and the Ministry of the Interior. “This mafia will not calm down until it obtains everything it needs to develop. We are glad that we managed to reduce the clout of the Democratic Party. The fight against the Communist dictatorship is a screen behind which the mafia satisfies its needs,” said Sergiu Mocanu. According to him, the persons who voted for the PDM did it because they were not adequately informed. Mainly persons living far from Chisinau voted for the party headed by Marian Lupu, Mocanu stated. The Antimafia Movement promises to return with new forces after the winter holidays and to strengthen its ideas in a political project with representative offices in the country’s districts so as to attract more supporters. The Movement’s members ran in the November 28 elections on the list of the Party for Nation and Country, which did not pass the election threshold.
