Officers of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime established that a number of drugstores were selling flu medications at higher prices. In most of the cases yet, the rises in prices were not consequences of speculations, but were connected with the purchase price, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Center says that the raids were carried out following complaints made by the population to its hotline (25-72-57). About 100 drugstores have been checked. The situation there was in general satisfactory. There were identified a number of irregularities like the lack of documents of origin for some drugs and the non-use of cash registers. The situation in the districts bordering Ukraine is less satisfactory. The anticorruption officers caught persons speculating in medications at the market and at home. This is worrisome as these drugs can endanger people’s lives given that they may be unauthorized, the communiqué says. The inspections will continue the next days as well.
