The use of antibiotics for prophylactic purposes in beekeeping will be banned, as a bill that was given a final reading by Parliament provides, IPN reports.

The beekeeper cannot keep more than 30 bee families in the case of non-professional exploitations.

Also, the period between taking of samples and their transportation to the laboratory cannot exceed 72 hours for samples frozen at temperatures of -20 degrees Celsius.

The holders of breeding apiaries will annually present the centralizing register of the economic value of bee families to the National Food Safety Agency.
