Anti-terror exercises in Chisinau

A group of terrorists have taken several foreign citizens as hostages, asking to set free a leader of the underworld instead. This is the scenario of a series of anti-terror exercises titled “United Forces – 2008”. The applications are due on November 3 and 4 in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. The head of the anti-terror center of the Service of Information and Security (SIS), Vitalie Armasu, told Monday an info session that, by the scenario, the terrorists shall take the hostages to an unfinished house and will ask for a car and a plane, without telling the destination of the flight. They will install explosives in the block, as well as unidentified chemicals. According to the same scenario, the criminal leader whose liberation is claimed, shall start turmoil in his jail, using knives manufactured by inmates. As the hostages' situation gets worse and the terrorists grow nervous, the chief of the staff shall decide to start operations of freeing the hostages and neutralizing the terrorists. Specialized teams will be employed to neutralize the mechanisms of the explosives. The United Force – 2008 exercise is organized by the Anti-Terror Center of the SIS in accordance with the action plan on carrying out the national anti-terror policy.
