Moldova became drastically poorer. During the past year, hundreds of thousands of people started to live worse. The Moldovans in the country and abroad lost their incomes, while the prices grew, said the Party of Action and Soldiery’s candidate for President Maia Sandu. As a President, her priority will be to make the authorities deal with the real problems of the people so as to help them overcome this crisis, the candidate stated in a press briefing, being quoted by IPN.
Maia Sandu noted she will remove the fence set up around the Presidential Palace so as to be “closer to the people”, will make sure that the unused luxury areas in the Palace are used for public interests, will propose liquidating particular useless, but high-paying posts at state institutions.
She will identify legal solutions to induce snap parliamentary elections, will urgently examine the 2021 draft budget law that was to be submitted to Parliament in September, but hasn’t been yet presented to the Government and will formulate proposals to make sure that the money is spent for the people.
Maia Sandu noted she will take Moldova out of international isolation and will bring money to the economy through grants and external financing. She will make every diplomatic and political effort to have a good relationship with the Russian Federation in line with Moldova’s national interests, will seek assistance from the international partners in containing the pandemic by immediately introducing free insurance for anti-COVID-19 treatment for patients who receive treatment at home.
She will initiate discussions with the international partners so as to help the elderly persons with small incomes, will propose a program to support the small businesses affected by COVID-19 and will identify resources to help agriculture overcome the crisis caused by the drought.
She will declare corruption a national security danger and will reanimate the Anticorruption Bureau formed when she served as Prime Minister so that this offers assistance to the Supreme Security Council. She will insist on the immediate investigation of resonant cases related to the bank fraud, concession of the airport, problematic cases in the banking system and insurance sector.
Maia Sandu assured she will be the President of everyone, no matter who the people voted for. She noted that November 15 is the day of changes and Igor Dodon should remain in the past.
