The Anti-Mafia People’s Movement issued an ultimatum to the First Deputy Head of Parliament Vlad Plahotniuc and Prime Minister Vlad Filat. They are asked during two weeks to abandon the idea of holding a referendum, to change the composition of the Central Election Commission, and to dismiss the prosecutor general and the president of the Court of Appeals. Otherwise, there will be staged protests, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Constitutional Court’s decision was the final act of the operation to usurp the official posts of First Deputy Head of Parliament and Prime Minister held by the most powerful mafia clans of Moldova – Vlad Plahotniuc and Vlad Filat,” the leader of the Anti-Mafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu said in a news conference. The Movement threatens to stage protests from January 30 if their demands are not satisfied. Sergiu Mocanu said protests will take place at all the institutions controlled by Vlad Plahotniuc and Vlad Filat – Victoriabank, Codru Hotel, Global Business Center, Ipteh, Eurosim SRL, the club Drive and Nobil hotel. “Our principle is simple. You attacked the state institutions and we will attack your businesses. The protest scheduled for January 30 will be only the start of a general offensive against the oligarchic clans for eradicating the mafia from the political and economic life of Moldova. We call on the political forces, the civil society institutions and ordinary people to join our fight,” said Sergiu Mocanu, assuring that all the protests will be peaceful. “They will not destroy and burn these buildings. We consider that the property stolen from the people must be returned back to the rightful owners,” said Sergiu Mocanu. Some of the damages are not yet excluded. “The people may have powerful imagination. For example, they will paint some of the places green, blue and may draw oak trees and roses,” said the Movement’s leader. He also said that the ultimatum is not aimed against Head of Parliament Marian Lupu and the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu as the two are in the ‘pockets’ of Vlad Plahotniuc.
