The National Agency for Food Safety ANSA will be reorganized. According to a project approved by the Government, ANSA will be left with 10 subdivisions, down from the current 23. As a result, the number of management positions will be reduced from 244 to 145.

In percentage terms, the share of management positions will be down from 20% to 12%. At the same time, the Agency will have its inspection powers boosted.

ANSA’s central office will take over the management of the territorial subdivisions, while the internal integrity supervision will be strengthened.

The stated goal of the ANSA reorganization is to enable the Agency to provide public services in an efficient, transparent and centralized manner.
