The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) is examining Gas Natural Fenosa’s request to approve new electric power charges, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the ANRE, the decision to adjust the charges will be put to the vote in a public meeting. The request to modify the charges is based on the precondition of eliminating crossed subsidies.

The request to adjust the electric power charges from April 1 was made by Gas Natural Fenosa on March 22. The company asked for a 14% rise in the tariff for the end-users connected to the 0.4 kV low voltage power lines, a 4.7% reduction in the tariff for those connected to the medium voltage power lines, and a 1.4% increase in the charge for those connected to the high voltage power lines.

Currently, the charge for the end-users connected to the low voltage power lines of Gas Natural Fenosa is 1.58 lei/kWh, while the clients of the power distribution networks RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest pay 1.71 lei and 1.73 lei/kWh respectively.
