The National Energy Regulatory Agency ANRE has asked the power and heat utility Molelectrica to present additional information accounting for its electricity transmission costs. The request comes after the utility asked the ANRE to increase its transmission rate by 82%.

Transmission costs usually make up about 5-6% of the regulated electricity prices, the ANRE noted. This means that when, and if the ANRE decides on the increase, the impact on the household charges won’t be immediate.

Moldelectrica submitted its request on December 6, asking for an increase in the transmission rate from the current 0.145 lei/kWh to 0.2643 lei/kWh.
