A group of specialists from the National Telecommunications Agency (ANRCETI) is participating in a experience exchange and training program under the European Commission's Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) during March 12-16. This is in line with ANRCETI's efforts to adopt EU standards in the telecommunications area, the agency said in a press release. The program will be provided by a team of experts from Lithuania. A workshop will be held focusing on four key issues for the development of the telecommunications market: general authorization; licensing of the use of the frequency spectrum, monitoring market actors, preventing violations in the area. In the five days of the workshop, the Agency specialists will share the experience and challenges they face in performing their duties related to the aforementioned aspects. The foreign experts will review, comment and provide recommendations, in the light of EU regulatory framework, on how to make ANRCETI’s activity in this regard more efficient. During the workshop, the Agency's specialists will share their experience and challenges faced in performing their duties. On the last day of the workshop, the participants will examine the results of the assistance program and will discuss the details of organizing a new program focused on consumer protection issues. The workshop is the second TAIEX assistance program offered to ANRCETI. The first program was offered to the Agency in April 2011 and focused on the development of regulations on number portability implementation in Moldova. TAIEX is an instrument of technical assistance provision for transposition of EU legislation to the beneficiary states and its enforcement by corresponding authorities. TAIEX provides technical training and counseling of experts in recipient countries, by means of the assistance offered by counterparts who already mastered the good practices.
