ANRCETI assigns short numbers for harmonized social services

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) started the procedure of assigning national short numbers for harmonized social services - 116000, 116111 and 116123. Applications can be submitted to ANRCETI between May 1 and June 1, 2012, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of ANRCETI, 116000 will be a helpline for missing children, which will provide guidance and support to people taking care of the missing child. The calls will then be redirected to the police. The helpline 116111 will provide help to children needing care and protection by connecting them to various organizations and resources. The helpline 116123 will provide emotional support to lonely people experiencing a psychological crisis or thinking about suicide. These numbers will be assigned, according to requests, to providers of electronic communications who will then offer them to operators who providing such services. Calls to 116000, 116111 and 116123 will be free and registration will not be required.
