Gheorghe Cebotari, Constantin Radu, Lucia Gutu, Eugeniu Cebotari, Igor Radu, and Valeriu Braniste, who are members of the Chisinau Local Organization of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance”, decided to withdraw from the party’s list of candidates and dissociate themselves from the electoral messages of the Greens’ leader Vladimir Braga and of Anatol Plugaru, who heads the party’s list of candidates, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a statement issued by them, the decisions of the party’s National Council concerning the fielding of candidates for the 2010 legislative elections were taken with serious procedural violations. The list includes persons who do not represent the ecologism, the purposes and program of the Ecologist Party. After the electoral list was compiled, the party’s slogan “A Clean Person in a Prosperous Country” was replaced with “A Law for All” and a number of other slogans that have not been approved by the National Council. “Anatol Plugaru proposed instituting capital punishment for serious crimes against children. It is a good proposal for the police, but it is not justified from the perspective of human ecology as it runs counter to the fundamental principles of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” and seriously violate the right to life,” said the six members. They call on the members and sympathizers of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” to take attitude to the anti-ecology messages and conceptions promoted in the current election campaign and to decide if they support or not the persons included in the list of candidates for the November 28 elections. The first deputy president and deputy president of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” Andrei Dumbraveanu and Anatol Prohnitski have withdrawn from the list earlier.
