The police arrested another four persons who were recruited to work as part of the paramilitary group set up in northern Moldova. These admitted that they intended to stage violent events with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Moldova, IPN reports, quoting the General Police Inspectorate.
The arrested persons have a criminal record. They were convicted of intentional murder, banditry, robberies, thefts and attempt to escape from detention places.
When questioned, the suspects confirmed that they were recruited by the leaders of the illegal group. One of them said the leaders offered him to take part in the armed conflict in Ukraine as a mercenary.
The 13 persons arrested earlier are suspected of planning armed attacks on state institutions. Eight of the group members were charged and the cases are to be sent to court.
