Five more Moldovan wine businesses have been authorized to export wine to Russia by this country’s food safety watchdog Rosspotrebnadzor, Info-Prim Neo reports. On its website, Rosspotrebnadzor says that owing to the high number of rejected consignments of alcoholic drinks, which come from the companies “Salcuta” and “Lion-Gri”, they are considering striking these firms from the list of companies allowed to export wine to Russia. “Unfortunately, Moldova’s Embassy in Russia does not devote enough attention to the monitoring of the products exported to Russia. The cooperation relations with this institution in the field have been lost,” Rosspotrebnadzor has said. It also said that a number of Moldovan officials asked investigating the possibility of opening one more specialized customs post in Bryansk town for the import of Moldovan wine into Russia. “A similar request was made by Russian and Moldovan entrepreneurs operating on the alcohol market. Given that the number of importing companies increased, we will explore the possibility of opening a specialized customs terminal in Bryansk,” said Rosspotrebnadzor. Moldova in the first eight months of this year exported wine products to the value of US$97.4 million, over 25% of which to Russia.
