Another enters race for Chisinau mayor

The Republican People’s Party (PPR) has fielded Svetlana Maslitchi, former head of the municipal Constructions Department, for mayor general of Chisinau municipality. PPR has also registered its list of candidates for municipal councillors. Maslitchi is the twelfth to submit her files for the respective position. To date, CECMC registered 10 candidates for the office of Chisinau mayor. These are Veaceslav Iordan, the candidate of the Party of Communists; Ion Mereuta on behalf of the Humanist Party; Leonid Bujor, supported by “Moldova Noastra” Allaince; Vladimir Filat, Democrat Party; Dorin Chirtoaca, Liberal Party; Zinaida Zorin, supported by the Conservative Party; Alexandru Corduneanu, the candidate of the People’s Christian Democrat Party; Valentin Krylov, Electoral Bloc “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie”; Eduard Musuc, Social democrat Party and Corneliu Ciurea, on behalf of the Social Liberal Party. The lists of councillors on behalf of nine political parties have been registered as well. On Thursday, April 26, the Council is to take a decision regarding the registration of Vitalia Pavlicenco on the part of the National Liberal Party as candidate for mayor, of the lists of councillors representing the same party, and of the Electoral Bloc “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie”. In addition, a number of political parties also announced they would field their own candidates for mayor. The applications shall be submitted until May 4.
