The Chamber of Trade and Industry and the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) announced the launch of the contests “Trademark of the Year 2017” and “Quality Achievements Award 2017”, IPN reports.
Chamber of Trade and Industry chairman Sergiu Harea said the contest “Trademark of the Year” was initiated in 2003 in a move to promote successful business practices, to familiarize consumers with the best brands on the domestic market and to present the competitive enterprises. As many as 1,300 trademarks took part in this contest in time, with 110 of these being national ones.
AGEPI director general Lilia Bolocan said such a platform for promotion and for loyal competition enables to emphasize the brands of goods and services of the highest quality.
The contest “Trademark of the Year 2017” will have 12 nominations, three of which are new, namely: “Woman in Business”, “Leader of the Year” and “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” for companies that have up to 70 employees and achieve remarkable results in promoting their brand names.
The companies that will take part in the contest will benefit from more offers from AGEPI, such as: free promotion of trademarks; diagnosis of intellectual property of enterprises; seminars on issues related to the intellectual property, and the role of brand names.
Applications can be submitted to the Chamber of Trade and Industry by March 30. A new poll will be carried out by April 15. This will involve consumers as their opinion is very important when deciding the best brands of products and services, said Sergiu Harea. The contest results will be made public at end-May, while the awards will be handed over in a festivity.
In the period, applications will be also collected for taking part in the contest “Quality Achievements Award 2017”. The award is offered for significant and stable results in the field of quality and for efficient quality management methods. Last year the contest involved 36 companies.
