Andrian Mardare took the javelin throw gold to become the fourth Moldovan athlete winning a medal at the World Universiade, taking place in Naples.
The 24-year-old claimed the title with a best effort of 82.40 m. He was followed by Lithuania’s Edis Matusevicius and China’s Qun Ma.
The three other World Universiade medallists are the judoka Denis Vieru (gold), judoka Dorin Goţonoaga (bronze), and taekwondo fighter Ana Ciuchitu (bronze).
