Moldovan athlete Andrian Mardare set a new national record in javelin throw – 83.71 meters – in the international tournament “Josef Odlozil Memorial” held in Prague, IPN reports.
The last national records in javelin throw were also set by Andrian Mardare. The new record is higher than the result required for qualifying for the Olympic Games. The European Under-23 Championship of Poland and the World Seniors Championship of the UK are the next competitions for Mardare. The tournaments will take place in July and, respectively, August.
Andrian Mardare is a multiple national champion who medalled bronze at the World Juniors Championship of 2014.
