The United States of America and the most important European states will remain concentrated on the region and on the support for the Republic of Moldova, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu stated when asked if the leaving by the outgoing U.S. Ambassador in Chisinau could affect the United States’ attitude to the Republic of Moldova.
“The people change, while the processes, system and policies do not change,” the Speaker stated in a program on Publica TV channel. According to him, the involvement of the United States in the region and in assisting Moldova is felt.
As regards the relations with the Russian Federation, Andrian Candu said this country can be a partner, especially from economic viewpoint, and the Republic of Moldova is open to such a partnership. “The doors in diplomacy are never closed. If you close the doors, you should open the windows. You should always keep the communication channels and there should always be a dialogue and communication prospects should be created,” he noted, adding the cooperation with Russia will be beneficial to Moldova if this cooperates and does not dominate.
