The vice president of the Democratic Party Andrian Candu said no one from outside the country and never can pronounce on the judgments passed by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova. If this happens, it can be described as interference in the national legal system. The issue was developed in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

“If someone says that we should forget about the Constitutional Court judgement, this would mean forgetting about the law enforcement system of Moldova, about the institutions in general and about the Republic of Moldova,” stated the Democratic MP.

According to him, if someone from outside Moldova pronounces on the CC judgments, this would be direct interference in the national legal system and the country’s sovereignty and independence will be thus in question.

Andrian Candu noted that if someone told him to ignore the CC rulings and to recognize the Sandu Government, he would be held accountable for ignoring the rulings.

As to the idea of eventual discussions on Moldova’s federalization, the politician said the Constitution provides that Moldova is a unitary, not federal state. The discussions on the eventual federalization would be against the Constitution. ”No politician can undertake to change the country’s status. Only the people can do this by a referendum and only by amending the Constitution, but the process implies big security risks,” stated Andrian Candu.
