Though he is for maintaining the Alliance for European Integration 3, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu does not rule out the possibility that the Democratic Party (PDM) could vote for the censure motion against the Government, put forward by the Socialists, in particular conditions. The Speaker made such statements in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“The PDM’s plan is to strengthen a pro-European majority, regardless of the name of the government. The PDM will not follow the pro-Eastern course together with the Socialists and Communists. We are all pro-West. But the aggressive attitude of those from the PLDM concerns us. We have lately felt that they are almost out of the ruling alliance. Filat should prove his innocence, if he can. It is not the duty of the members of his party to prove this. If Strelet continues to put the party interests above everything, I fear we could vote for the censure motion,” said Andrian Candu.
On the other hand, the Speaker noted that Valeriu Strelet will have to convince Parliament of his non-involvement in the thefts committed in the banking system. “Mister Strelet will have to present evidence in the October 29 sitting of Parliament, when the censure motion is to be debated. Any suspicion about acts of corruption must alarm us. I know Valeriu Strelet as a good manager of his business and I believe him until the opposite is proven,” he stated.
Andrian Candu accused the Liberal Democratic Party of having close relations with the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”. “There are discussions and agreements between them. Their messages are aimed against the PDM. Those from the PLDM requested convening a special sitting of Parliament where to take cognizance of the demands put forward by the Platform, which pursues hidden goals,” he said.
He also said that for the PDM the censure motion is less important than the attraction of the MPs of Iurie Leanca’s group. “The AEI 3 has 50 votes and enjoys minority support. Our priority is to create and maintain a stable majority. Some of the members of the PLDM are yet against coopting the Leanca group into the coalition,” stated the Speaker.
