Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said that he does not stick to his post and if the Lib-Dems want to dismiss him, they should look for votes in Parliament. The official commented on the statements made by the acting leader of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet, who said that one of their conditions for taking part in the formation of the new government is that Parliament should aim to solve the vital problems of society, not to contribute to creating these problems. “The rhythmicity and output of the legislature’s activity should be ensured by a Speaker who will be free from suspicions about business affiliation or relations with persons who built the system to make the state captive,” said Strelet, IPN reports.

After the meeting of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau, Andrian Candu said that he does not stick to his post especially if the formation of a majority coalition and the investiture of a government depend on it and he will put the country’s interests above if his dismissal is required, not the party or personal interests. “Imposing conditions without coming to discussions is unacceptable. I thus call on the PLDM to accept our invitation to a dialogue as the conditions can be discussed within this dialogue,” he stated.

The Speaker returned recently from an official visit to Brussels. He said that Moldova remained in the focus of the European institutions and the European officials are firmly committed to support the country in all its efforts. “The key message of the European officials is to overcome the political crisis and to secure a comfortable parliamentary majority that would firmly assist the Government in doing reforms. They understand the situation and recommend forming a government coalition by involving the whole political class. They said that everything is in our hands. I think we should overcome the emotions and should sit at the negotiating table,” stated Andrian Candu.
